Conor Woods: May 2017
1. What was your greatest fear about beginning a training program? Is that still present today?
I’ve never been a “big muscle” guy, so my biggest fear in a weight room is doing something wrong or feeling like I don’t belong. I love that Rebell has lots of different types of people and accepts people wherever they are coming from. I always feel welcome, and I always feel like I belong in the room.
2. What has been your biggest takeaway from strength training? (Either inside or outside of the gym.)
If you’ve ever seen the 30 Rock episode where Liz Lemon walks really slowly on the treadmill (https://www.youtube.com/watch
?v=6rha3Q-O4Pc), that was me at my last gym. If left to my own devices, I don’t really push myself out of my cardiovascular comfort zone. But, when I have a community working around me and a teacher encouraging me, I feel the positive pressure to put in more effort.
3. If you were a Disney character, who would you be and why?
I want to be Maleficent, but, let’s face it, I’m definitely Iago.
