Erica and Jen Weber: April 2016
How long have you been training at Rebell?
E & J: Since January 2016
What have you accomplished thus far?
E: This is a three-way tie. I never pictured myself being a 6 am regular at the gym, let alone a kettle ball gym, but now I can’t imagine starting my day any other way. I have to give a shout-out to the 6 am Rebellers and Mike for making it a class I want to get out of bed for every morning. My two other accomplishments recently happened and are my PRs. It seems like such a basic exercise, but being able to do a proper form push-up and without pain has been so exciting for me. And deadlifting 2 28s was pretty badass.
J: So far I’ve been able to complete an unassisted chin-up in the first 3 months of training. I played volleyball in college and in four years of lifting, I was never once able to complete a chin-up without the use of a band. It’s a clear sign the my strength coach in college didn’t use the correct training techniques like Rebell uses in their programs. It’s been awesome to see how much stronger I’ve become in such a short time!
What is your 2016 strength goal?
E: I want to do a chin-up and perfect my get-up.
J: Complete 5 unassisted chin-ups and 1 pull-up
Favorite exercise and why?
E: I’m going to have to go with deadlift and shins to bar. Deadlifts always make me feel really strong no matter what kind of day I’m having. I really don’t know what it is about shins to bar but I think they’re fun (I’m weird).
J: Medicine ball slams because I can take out a lot of frustration!
Least favorite and why?
E: Sleds…do I really need to explain this one?
J: The heavy ropes because I feel weak and it’s tough to wash my hair after!
E: King crab legs with a side of steak tartare
J: I’ve got a sweet tooth of a 10 year old so probably candy but I have many favorites
What class can people find you in?
E: 6 am during the week and 8 am on most Saturdays.
J: The 6am is where it’s at!
