The most rewarding aspect of working with people is when I hear about their successes outside of the gym. Lifting a weight that you never thought you could or achieving a range of motion that you previously struggled with is great. In fact, it’s those successes that we work towards at Rebell. However, the bigger payoff is what we learn from the struggles that training presents to us. If we can translate our effort towards achievements in the gym into becoming better, more productive, healthier people who make a positive impact on those around us outside of the gym, then I say that is the true victory. Strength training will teach you a lot if you pay attention: problem solving, adaptation, creativity, work ethic. The lessons go on and on, and if all we get out of that work and those lessons is a big squat, then we failed somewhere. Rebell has taught us all valuable lessons, and it has become a community of caring, supportive, genuine, and strong people. I am honored to be a part of that.
